Update from September 2026: I am an experienced abortion doula with certifications from 2024 and early 2026. I am currently in training to be a full-spectrum doula so that I will also be certified to assist in other aspects of pregnancy, including labor and delivery. In order to become certified, I must be the main doula at three live births. I am currently looking for clients who would like to receive free doula services in exchange for allowing me to be their (student) doula and completing an additional form or two. Package options and rates

I am currently unable to accept any sort of insurance coverage. Once I am fully certified, I will be able to accept Medicaid and some private insurance carriers in certain states.

All of my services are available on a sliding scale. (If you're unfamiliar with sliding scale fees, you can learn more here and also here.) In general, if you own your own home or property, own or lease a car, have reliable access to health care, have steady and reliable employment or income, and/or travel for recreation once a year or more, then you should likely be paying for the full cost of care. Payment plans are available upon request. Discounted rates are available based on individual circumstances.

Initial consultation and meet and greet

Always free, and included with all services. This is a 60-90 minute discussion either in-person or virtually. This initial meeting is a chance for you to learn more about investing in doula services. This also helps us get to know one another a little bit and determine if we are a good fit for a successful doula-client relationship.

The complete package

This service includes two prenatal visits, support for the entire labor and delivery process, and two postpartum visits. Details for each type of service are listed below.

The basic package: labor and delivery support + one prenatal visit

Labor and delivery support includes:

one prenatal visit to answer questions and discuss birth plan - additional prenatal visits can be requested, ask for custom package pricing
complete labor and birth support: I will be on call and available to you beginning at 37 weeks; once labor begins, I will be there for the entire labor and delivery process
immediate postpartum support, up to 3 hours after birth (depending on hospital / birth center policies)
unlimited phone, text, and email support for your entire pregnancy
printed booklets and resources: 1) prenatal education and resources, 2) labor and delivery education and resources, 3) postpartum education and resources - a complete package of information to help you through the entire process, at every stage
labor and postpartum goodie bag: includes a variety of treats and supplies to help you manage your labor and your postpartum recovery (exact contents are customized for each client)
continued text/email support for up to three weeks postpartum - note that actual postpartum visits are not included, but they can be requested as part of a custom package

Prenatal services (for those who want pre-birth prep only)

Includes:

one prenatal visit, 60-120 minutes (this is separate from the initial consultation): topics covered include labor, birth, postpartum, how to prepare for labor and delivery before contractions begin, bringing baby home, and anything else that's on your mind
a printed booklet that includes prenatal education and resources (can be shipped for virtual clients)
a printed birth plan template, along with information and resources to create your ideal birth plan
continued text/email support for a certain number of weeks (depends on where you are in the pregnancy process; additional support available by request). (Note that I will not be "on call" as I would for a full labor and delivery support, but I will respond to messages within a few hours.)

Additional visits can be scheduled by request to cover: ideal movements and exercises to prepare the body for birth and ease labor pains, becoming emotionally and mentally prepared for birth and parenting, how to advocate for yourself in the hospital / doctor's office / birth center, assistance understanding medical jargon and healthcare billing, and other techniques and strategies to help you focus on the most important part: parenting your baby!

I can also accompany you to any prenatal medical appointments that you have with other providers. That is also a prenatal service/visit, and usually includes some time before/after the appointment where I can answer any questions you have and help you practice how to advocate for yourself when you're in the room with a provider.

Postpartum services

Includes:

one in-home postpartum visit, usually 3-4 hours depending on client needs
nutrition advice for both you and baby
lactation support - I have training to provide some basic nursing and lactation support, but more complex needs may require a referral to a dedicated lactation consultant
in-home support - customized per client, could include light cleaning, housework, chores, feeding and caring for baby while you take a shower / nap / break, etc.
advice, troubleshooting, and a listening ear

Additional visits can be scheduled by request to provide ongoing support. Additional postpartum services may also be available upon request, such as placenta encapsulation, belly binding, meditation ceremony, and non-denominational baptism / celebration of life rituals.

Why Hire a Doula?

In the United States, Black birth parents are three to four times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white birth parents. This disparity persists regardless of income, education, or health status, highlighting systemic racism and bias in medical care. You don't have to navigate a confusing and potentially hostile healthcare system alone.

Doulas provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postparum period. Studies show that hiring a doula provides a number of benefits, including:

lower C-section rates (with some studies showing up to a 40% reduction in cesareans)
reduced pre-term birth rates
fewer complications throughout the birthing process
better outcomes for both parent and child - the United States has the highest infant and pregant person mortality and complication rates of any modern nation, especially for those who are Black, Latine, Indigenous, or are marginalized for any aspect of their identity, and evidence shows that doula care reduces risks and complications
